Before you buy a Nokia N900 Maemo 5 device when it hits the street, make sure you read this extremely detailed review from mobile-review.  The review includes a big array of screenshots as well as covering most of the aspects of the device.

The device will look familiar to the owners of N800, N810.  However, the Maemo platform has been under a major overhaul by Nokia, hoping to bring a good alternative smart device to the market.

Before enjoying the reading, there are some of the highlighted features you may want to note:

Palm WebOS 1.2 is ready for download

webosPalm WebOS 1.2 is ready for download.  According to palm site, there isn’t new feature for the new version.  However, there are quite a number of updates for the existing applications.

To name a few of more significant updates:

  • User can download paid apps from App Catalog now
  • LinkedIn is now supported for Contact Sync

Palm did not “fix” the syncing issue for iTune 9.01.  I am just wondering whether Palm will still want to play the break-it-and-fix-it game with Apple.

2 billion download mark with Apple App Store

appstoretopappsWhat a number! 2 billion downloads.  It took the App Store to have 1 billion apps to 1.5 billion apps in 3 months.  And now, 1.5 billion to 2 billion in just 2 months plus.

According to the press, Apple has now over 85,000 apps in the App Store.  Apple owns the number one web store at the moment.  Palm, Microsoft, Google and others still have a long way to go to beat the numbers.
