Android 1.6 SDK (Donut) is here

donutGoogle has just announced the availability of Android 1.6 SDK.  As soon as October, we will see devices running Android 1.6, according to the developer blog.

Some highlighted features:

  • Quick search box -- a.k.a. the universal search.
  • L2TP, IPSec, PPTP VPN support.
  • Android market update, with screen shots and a brigther colour theme.
  • Text-to-Speech engine.
  • Support for CDMA network.
  • New gestures framework.
