Sony Ericsson to cut 2000 jobs
Sony Ericsson, the No. 4 phone manufacturr, has announced a massive restructuring worldwide and will eventually cut 4000 jobs (out of 9900).
Sony Ericsson will close its Research Triangle Park operation by the third quarter of 2010, cutting 400 plus jobs. And the consolidation will eventually leave Sony Ericsson with four R&D centers: Lund, Tokyo, Beijing and Redwood Shores.
Sony Ericsson has been struggling to be profitable for years, with this cost cutting move and new products to be released like Xperia X2 (Windows Mobile ) and Xperia X10 (Android), we shall see the results later.
