According to Microsoft, Windows Mobile Marketplace has 800 apps now
According to Microsoft, there are now around 800 apps in the Windows Mobile Marketplace.
This is actually far less than the apps available for Windows Mobile platform. As Windows Mobile platform is more open towards app installing, the users can freely install apps into the Windows Mobile platform by just copy the installation cab files to the device. And there are still many developers not submitting their apps to the Marketplace yet.
Compare to 100,000 apps in iPhone App Store and 16,000 in Android Market, it seems like the Marketplace is still having a long way to go. However, I believe the number of apps in the Marketplace will grow rapidly when more existing Window Mobile developers submit their apps to the Marketplace.
