LG GW990 – first smartphone to use Moorestown and runs Moblin

The first Moorestown (Intel’s CPU) based device is unveiled by LG during CES 2010. It is now official, it runs Moblin ( a Linux based mobile platform from Intel), and it’s launching in the second half of this year.

The GW990 will be coming with a 4.8-inch panoramic widescreen display (with a 1020 x 480 resolution), HD Video, 3D gaming, aGPS, WiFi, 1850mAh battery, digital compass, HSPA radio, 5 megapixel camera, 16Gb of built in flash memory and MicroSD expansion slot.

LG is layering their S-Class inteface on top of the Moblin so there is not much of excitement over here.  But because of its huge screen, it can show 3 panels in one screen without feeling too many things on the screen (see the image).

This is something to look forward to in the second half of the year.
