Android 2.2 is 450% faster than Android 2.1?
According to people at AndroidPolice who claimed to have access to FroYo (Android 2.2). They have run a speed test and the result shows a 450% improvement from Android 2.1.
- the Nexus One running Android 2.1 gets about 6.5-7 MFLOPS
- the HTC Hero averages a measly score of about 2 MFLOPS (the phone is pretty slow indeed)
And Nexus with FroYo is running at 37.5 MFLOPS! That is most likely the effect of the new JIT for FroYo.
That really got me excited and can’t wait for the official release of FroYo from Google.
