New Google Map gets bike directions and sharing

Google just pushed out another update for the Google Map for Android.  And this time it will include an additional layer that shows the bike direction. This is a good news for bike enthusiastic as you will be able to check the path to ride from one place to another. Another new feature is the ability to share location and direction with your friends via SMS and Email.

Android 2.2 is 450% faster than Android 2.1?

According to people at AndroidPolice who claimed to have access to FroYo (Android 2.2).  They have run a speed test and the result shows a 450% improvement from Android 2.1. the Nexus One running Android 2.1 gets about 6.5-7 MFLOPS the HTC Hero averages a measly score of about 2 MFLOPS (the phone is pretty slow indeed) And Nexus with FroYo is running at 37.5 MFLOPS! Android phones outsells iPhone in US for the first time

Apple’s fear of being beaten by Android has come through.  According to Q1 2010 statistic, Android phones sales volume is higher than iPhone in US for the first time.  The Android phones sales is recorded at 28% while iPhone is 21%.  The number in US is still the Blackberry phones from RIM, recorded at 36%. LG Ally details surfacing

More details of LG Ally is surfacing to the web.  The next Android 2.1 phone from LG will be arriving soon. The phone will ship with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, Android 2.1, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a backside camera and a microSD card slot.  From the phone’s micro site, there is link to the LG Ally community and we will be able to find out more of this phone from there.

HTC revenue up for Q1 and looking for growth in Q2

In Q1 of this year, HTC posted gross revenues of $1.2 billion from 3.3 million handsets sold. And according to Financial Time, HTC is looking for even more sales in Q2 with another 50% growth.  With the new handsets like Legend, Desire, HD Mini, Smart and many others, HTC will be enjoying the high increase of sales.
