HTC HD2 on sales now from all three operators in Singapore

hd2-2Singapore consumers, wait no more, HTC HD2 is on sale now from Stahub, Singtel and M1 now.

The launch of the HD2 is overshadowed by the iPhone war in Singapore started few days ago.  The coverage from media and the operators are much lesses the iPhone.  However, this super Windows Mobile 6.5 phone from HTC is still generating a lot of interest from the market.  Those who preordered the phone have been collecting it from the operators.  And now, it is available for general market.

The phone comes with a huge 4.3″ capacitive touch screen, a 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU and it is the first HTC Windows Mobile phone that comes wih Sense.  It is top of its class.

Prices?

M1: Starting from SGD838 from a low plan to SGD638 for a high plan.  There is a discount f SGD100 for data plan sign up as well.

Well, if you have been waiting for this, go and grab it from the operator of your choice.

M1 and Starhub added more armours to fight the iPhone war in Singapore

iphone2M1, one of the three operators in Singapore that started selling Apple iPhone on 8th of December, has added more goodies to the iPhone price plan bundle.

Original bundled with 10Gb of data (and it was the highest until Singtel and Starhub raised theirs to 12Gb), M1 is now bundling 12 Gb of data and cap the data charge at SGD30.

For Starhub, it has thrown in free IDD (international) calls to 18 countries for free, instead of paying SGD5 for monthly subscription.  Take that, Singtel and M1 where we have to pay SGD5 monthly to enjoy that.  This is a good news for people like me who need to call some countries like US, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia quite often.

Do something Singtel and Starhub, I don’t want to pay the extra 5 dollars for this service.

Status of HTC HD2 preorder from Starhub

hd2-2For those who had preordered the HTC HD2 from Starhub and are waiting for it to arrive, I have heard that Starhub has started to call those who preordered the phone and some of them have already got the it.

So I guess we just have to wait patiently for Starhub to call.  While the sales date of the phone keep slipping from week to week.  We are really hoping it will be on sales from the operators by this weekend.  So we just have to cross our fingers and wait for the announcement, hopefully this weeked.

Singapore iPhone war continues, M1 increases data bundle to 12GB, Starhub data fee capped at SGD30

iphone2This is another proof that open market will benefit the consumers :) When there are more competitors in the market, there will be more choices and the prices will be more competitive.

Singapore consumers, you are now free to choose your iPhone operators.  And we are seeing the prices and bundles keep changing from the 3 operators these few days.  M1’s iPhone plans were bundled with 10Gb of data originally, and now they are bundled with 12Gb of date after Singtel and Starhub increased their bundled to 12Gb.  And Starhub data usage charge is capped at SGD30 (from SGD48) now, after Singtel changed the data charge to be capped at SGD30.

And I am not sure when this will end.  If you are planning to buy one, I suggest you wait till everything settles down :)

At the end, the consumers win.  And yes, Apple will win too, because the iPhone market in Singapore will now be expanded.

Singtel changed the iPhone plans, now bundled with 12Gb data and SGD30 cap

iphone2Singtel (Singapore) acted, in response to the agressive iPhone plans from the 2 competitors, Starhub and M1.

The news plans apply to the new iPhone customers, as well as the existing iPhone plan holders.  The new plans include 12Gb of data bundle and a cap of SGD30 from 9th December.  The existing iPhone plan holders have started to receive the notification SMS already.
