HTC Desire ROM brings Sense to Google Nexus One

I expected this but not so soon.  The hackers don’t sleep, do they?  Just shortly after HTC demoed the HTC Desire with Android 2.1 and Sense, it is quickly ported to Google Nexus One and shown off to the world.

The fast port could due to the fact that the hardwares of Nexus One and Desire are very similar.  The moder from Modaco is able to load the ROM extracted from HTC Desire to Nexus One with just a few modifications.  Most of the things work now with some needed more work.

With these moders around, we should be expecting a ROM with HTC Sense to be available soon from the community.

How excited!

HTC Hero getting Android 2.1 with Sense in March

I believe many of you are waiting anxiously for the Android 2.1 update for HTC Hero.  And we have a more concrete news now that the update will be released in March.

HTC’s Benelux team reports that the Hero will get the update in March.  And not only the Hero will get the Android 2.1 update, the Sense UI will get quite a number of improvements as well.  The update will include a new Friend Stream widget that enables you to keep up with social network, like Facebook or Twitter, and improve Microsoft Exchange support.

Excited?!

Motorola DROID to get Android 2.1 upgrade by this week

This is earlier than expected, Motorola has officially mentioned in its Facebook page that DROID will get the Android 2.1 treatment by this week.

Here is the scoop and note that there are some differences compared to the Android 2.1 of Nexus One:

  • It looks like it’ll be based off the Android2.1-update1 build that Google put out last week on the Nexus One.
  • So do expect multitouch in the browser, to go along with the pinch-to-zoom that was enabled on the Droid for Google Maps just last week.
  • Google Goggles will be included in the ROM by default.
  • The Droid’s home screen remains as is – it still uses the app drawer
  • No live wallpapers.
  • The news and weather widget from the Nexus One will be included

I am wondering whether the upgrade will be rolled out to MILESTONE users at the same time.  Nevertheless, DROID users, enjoy the upgrade and join the world of Android 2.1.

An unblurred picture of HTC Supersonic

We have just seen a blur picture of HTC Supersonic.  And now we have a better version of that.

The Russian blog youhtc.ru has released a much better quality picture of the HTC Supersonic and it looks good.  Oh, there is a rendered picture of it as well.

Well, at the moment we can only view the pictures and wait for this next superphone from HTC – 4.3 inch WVGA AMOLED screen, 1Ghz Snapdragon, super thin body, Android 2.1 with Sense.

HTC Hero getting update to Android 2.1 in March?

This will e a piece of good news if it is true.  For those HTC Hero owners who are waiting for the Android 2.1 update from HTC, the update might be coming in March.  It is actually much earlier than anticipated.

A representative of Irish mobile operator Meteor has revealed that HTC is now telling operators to expect Android 2.1 to arrive for the much-loved HTC Hero in March.  They actually posted the following information to their official forum:

“Just got another update on this and HTC have said they are releasing 2.1 on the Hero and we are hoping to have this available by the end of March.

This will be available via the HTC website and we are also looking at other ways to make this update easier to access for our customers. As soon as I hear any more on this I’ll let you all now because I know the release of 2.1 is something that everyone is looking forward to.”

Since it is coming from the operator, I believe the information should be quite accurate.  Wow, mark your calendar and celebrate.
