Despite Palm‘s effort to make the Pre compatable to iTunes media sync, Apple just hates it and keeps breaking it with new updates.

While the main goals of iTunes 9.0.2 are to add support for Apple TV software version 3.0, add an option for a dark background for Grid View and improve support for accessibility, Apple just happily added another small “feature” to break the Palm Pre sync.

Well, we shall see whether Palm will stop here, or just continues to play the game later on.

The game is not over yet.  Palm has just released WebOS update version 1.2.1 for the Pre and according to the release note, it resolves an issue preventing media sync from working with latest version of iTunes (9.0.1).

People who need their Pre to be able to sync media files using iTunes should get the update.

Anyone wants to bet when Apple will release a new version of iTunes that will break the sync again.
