Nokia announces C6, C7 and E7

Nokia has just announced its latest Symbian^3 based phone, C6, C7 and E7. The Nokia C6-01 has an 8 megapixel camera and a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen with all-new ClearBlack Display (CBD) technology which is said to deliver better outdoor visibility. 1.4 millions downloads of the free Nokia Ovi Map for the first week

People like free things, and it is proven again.  The Ovi Map from Nokia has been downloaded for 1.4 millions times since it went free last week.  An on average, it is one download every second. Symbian OS is now open source

In order to fight iPhone and Android, Nokia established the Symbian Foundation in year 2008 and promised to open source the OS that runs on millions of phone – Symbian OS. Nokia N900 hacked to dual boot into Android

It’s a matter of time. Nokia’s Maemo platform, the N900, has been hacked to allow dual boot into Android.  The video below is showing the device is hacked to offer booting into Android.  Although nothing much (no instruction of how to do this) has been shown in the video, but we are there will be more information coming soon and the N900 owners will able to enjoy both OSes on a single device soon.

Nokia offers turn-by-turn navigation software free, globally

The announcement of Google offering navigation software has got many of the GPS navigation companies like TomTom and Garmin into trouble.  The announcement from Nokia will get them into more troubles.
